Introduction

Nepal is a land of diverse cultures. Different indigenous people who have been living in different regions of Nepal should unite to have a discrimination free state with equality for all.  There is no other way to achieve development if all these diverse indigenous people do not connect.

In context to Himalayan region, there are various other indigenous ethnic people, including Sherpas whose economical, social, cultural and educational development shall lead directly or indirectly towards the development of the nation by creating capable and competent manpower.

We also aim to preserve and boost Sherpa language, their religion, cultural norms and values by organizing various creative programs and activities to aid national development. Our target is to help the needy, poor and downtrodden by providing them health, morale and material support.

Himalayan Sherpa Society  (Himali Sherpa Samaj) in Nepalese language has been has been registered as a Non-profit Organization and Non-government Organization to help Sherpas to attain development in economic, social, cultural and education sectors and help them bring to mainstream developing their morale and capabilities to assist in the development of Nepal. Registered under Nepal government as on: HSS is situated at Chuchepati Bouddha ward no: 7 near Pasang Lamo Chok.

Vision

Our vision is to serve the Himalayan communities especially Sherpas by helping them gain both spiritual and academic education. This way they will get insight and awareness and will participate in the mainstream proving themselves key players in the nation’s development.

Mission Statement

HSS mission is to help Himalayan people especially Sherpas both men and women, old and youth to help preserve their culture, language, religion and help them gain education so that they can be transformed into a good citizen.
